Wing - Left Flaps and Ailerons

2004-06-05 - Flap and Aileron parts. (4.0 Hrs).

Fabricated the flap FL-706A angles, and the aileron A-408 spar reinforcement plates. Started deburring all of the flap and aileron parts.

You start with a long piece of aluminum angle.
Then, you cut a couple of inches off of the end. Then you cut another inch or so off of that piece. Deburr the part, then do it again for the other wing.
The A-408 spar reinforcement plates for both ailerons. Note, I think I cut up the .040 piece that Van gave me for the wing when I did my wing tip light project. Fortunately, I still had a small piece of .040 left over from the empennage scrap pieces. So, those pieces of scrap that Van sends along with the wing are not scraps at all--they are needed to build your wing. The only free scraps that you will get came with the empennage.

Oops, it looks like I didn't need to cut these from scrap .040. A few days later, I found the 4 pieces already cut to size in bag 419. That means I cut up a perfectly good piece of .040. Oh, well, I'm sure that I will find a use for the pieces that Van cut somewhere else.
