Fuselage - Bulkheads

2005-01-14 - Dimple and start riveting the firewall. (2.0 Hrs).

Finished dimpling the firewall, and started riveting the firewall. One problem that I ran into was that all of the #30 countersunk holes were too shallow, so I had to recountersink almost all of the parts. Turns out that I had drilled and dimpled my #30 rivet gauge with a #40 hole--oops!

The long pieces did not come out so good. I really needed to sand them better. The scotch-brite didn't scratch them up enough. Oh, well, I'm not going to do this over--they'll be ok.
Everything all cleco'd together, ready to rivet.
The first corner is done. As you can see, I was only able to squeeze three rivets. I really need to find a longeron yoke for my squeezer.
