Fuselage - Bulkheads

2005-06-01 - Assembling the F-706 bulkhead. (2.0 Hrs).

I'm going on vacation next week, and I wanted to get one more work session in before I go. I managed to finish the F-706 bulkhead, except for the final riveting. I wasn't going to prime any of the parts inside the cabin, but I think I want to prime the rear fuselage parts. I riveted the F-706B bulkhead bottom to the F-728/729/730 parts, which makes it a little harder to prime, so I will wait until I get back from vacation to decide what to do here.

Drilled the F-728B angle to the F-728A Bellcrank Channel.
Everything clecoed together, ready to drill.
Drilling the F-729C angle.
Looks like we are Ready to rivet, except that we need to take everything apart, and dimple a few parts.
Here's a minor problem with the longeron yoke. You need longer dimple dies, so I just inserted a few washers behind the dimple die--worked ok.
Everything drilled, and dimpled as needed, ready to rivet.
That's not good. Looks like I should have held these pieces together with a clamp.
I couldn't get to those last two rivets with the squeezer, so I had to fire-up the rivet gun.
The instructions say to not rivet the F-728 channel, yet, so I didn't. I don't know when this is done, but it doesn't seem to be anytime soon. Looks like I need to visit someone else's website to find out when this is riveted.

Edit 7-28-06 - look on page 8-11. You can rivet this now if you want. See Fuselage 7-15-06.

That kind of looks like a bulkhead.
