Fuselage - Forward Section

2006-03-12 - Riveting the side skins - center section AFT edge. (3.5 Hrs).

Began riveting the center section to the AFT section.

Remove the right side skin, so we can rivet the AFT edge of the center section to the AFT section. Yes, I know Van says to do the side skins first, but then I wouldn't be able to get to the AFT edge rivets by myself, so, I'm doing the AFT edge first--we'll see.
First thing is to rivet F-623 in place, making sure not to rivet too close to where the side skin slips between F-623 and the F-776 bottom skin.
Next thing is to do the AFT joint. Halfway done.
Need to pre-rivet F-704H to the side skin, per Van's instructions. I went ahead and riveted the bottom rivet. Looking at Dan's site, I see no reason to not do this now.

Edit 4-16-06: Do not rivet the bottom hole FWD of the wing spar cutout! See 4-15-06.

Before putting the side skin back on, I wanted to rivet the F-715 ribs to the bottom skin.
Right skin back on--still fits.
Who missed dimpling this hole? Idiot!
Left side skin off, ready to finish rivets along the AFT edge. And, yes, that is a fan running in the background. It's 89° in Austin today!
The center section is now riveted to the AFT section. Those 3 clecos are for F-729, which I think needs to be done later.
