Firewall Forward - Fixtures and stands

2008-09-20 - Finished Building the Engine Test Stand. (2.0 Hrs).

The engine test stand is done. Now that it's finished, I think the initial build-up will be easier on the HF test stand, at least for the oil pan and the parts on the rear of the engine (actually, the engine front, the engine sits backwards in the plane). I could have gotten started a long time ago. Also, I started reviewing the engine rebuild literature, which I should have done while waiting for the engine mount.

The test stand is finished, almost. After this shot, I ripped another board to close-up the bottom slot. The first thing that happened when I inserted the bolts in the engine plate was that I dropped a bolt, and it went straight to the hole in the bottom of the stand. What was I thinking?
Here's the 13B that is going to go on the stand. It's been sitting like this for a year-and-a-half, and it's starting to rust.
